Gambia: West Africa Private Sector Urged to Partake in ARVS Production - As Waho Day Is Celebrated

Health experts have called for the local private sector in the West Africa sub-region to contribute in the production of Antiretroviral Drugs (ARVs) to increase access and avoid dependency.
The health stakeholders made the call Tuesday at the celebrations marking the 26th anniversary of the formation of the West African Health Organisation (WAHO) on the theme: "HIV/AIDS and sustainable development, the contribution of local private -sector in the production of Antiretroviral Drugs (ARVs)."
Held at the Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi, the event was the first time that The Gambia hosted a central celebration of WAHO Day, and it brought together both local and international delegates from the Organisation's headquarters in Burkina- Faso .
